I am a newbie building my first ecommerce website and have been searching for a good web host. So far I ran across hostmonster.com. Its pretty affordable and has many good features. I have not made a definite decision yet. What should I be looking for in an ecommerce website?
EDIT: What should I be looking for in a web host for an ecommerce website?

This question assumes that I would use different companies for each. Also… what are some reputable services that offer many sub-domains at a relatively affordable price? I don’t need an outrageous amount, but at least 7 or 8 would be preferable…

i made a website using domain and webhosting from yahoo….they gave me email addresses to…like me@mysite.com
i made couple of more email address for my co workers…not all of us use yahoo mail, therfore they were having trouble linking to this new email address….is there a way i can make a email portal that will be a part of my website…like www.mail.mysite.com or mysite.com/mail
does yahoo provide this service….like if my coworker gets on the website….he would click on ‘Email’ and a pop-wup will ask him to put in his email address and password and then he can check his business email for there directly…
thanks

I’m looking at various webhosts to host a project I worked on on my own computer. The project pretty much requires that I can create a PHP file without a .php, .php3., .php4 etc. extension and function like it should. I edited the httpd.conf file on my computer to change DefaultType to application/x-httpd-php, but most affordable web hosts won’t let me do that. Is there a workaround? Or do some web hosts already do that? If so, is Dreamhost one (or should I not use it at all?)
