How to choose a free web hosting site for my domain?
After I paid for a domain from godaddy, I found out its web hosting prices were not good for me. I want one that is free. It’s gonna be just a small personal website to publicize myself and no intention of business. There are so many of them out there. What should I look into to decide which one to choose? There are a few subquestions:
Is it a common practise for free hosting site to charge for the domain transfer fee?
Does free webhosting site provide support for the basic designing of my homepage? (I knew nothing about Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver…)
If I dislike it, is it possible for me to switch to other hosting sites without losing any of the content on my page?

For the type of web host you are looking for I suggest this one
http://www.000webhost.com/224273.html
I have been using 000webhost for sometime now to host my two sites and I never have had a problem with them. It is very much a legitimate company and it has a lot of happy customers.
Now to answer your sub-questions…
Is it common for a free hosting site to charge for transfer of your domain? No, because most free web hosts don’t support this feature, they have FREE domain hosting but no domain transfer; this is the case with 000webhost, they will host your domain for free but you have to change your nameservers on godaddy for the domain to be pointed to 000webhost.
Does free web hosting provide support for the basic web designing of your page? With most yes, they have site-builders to help you with your page and you don’t have to know a line of code whatsoever. with 000webhost they have an on-site, site bulder which is fairly easy to use but a little more complicated than say webs.com or something like that.
If you dislike it, is it possible to change to a new web host? Well of course its possible. with 000webhost you can download backups of your website from your control panel (which is helpful because you won’t be saving a copy in dreamwever or coffeecup)
I promise you that 000webhost is the way to go if you are looking for a reliable and steady free web hosting service.
You can check review of top ten web hosts at website like aplis.net ,etc .
You can use wordpress.com or blogger.com for your blogging or other purposes. You can also monetize your blog through adsense at blogger.com, at wordpress you can not use adsense.
You do not need to know any coding for using blogger. No need of frontpage, dreamweaver or other programs. you can find free blogger templates at internet.
Other free hosting companies only offer hosting services but you can not use them to make money through adsense or other pay per click programs.
freehostia.com offers a free service, there aren’t many bells and whistles attached to the free service, but you can definitely use it for personal use. no ads or banners
First it must be a legal company to proceeds the domain names. This is enough for selecting the free hosting site.And i got this site http://www.thewebpole.com/ for my domain name registering process. Simply its a best to register the domain name, free web hosting Also they provides some free of costs services also
* Photo Album
* Quick Blogcast
* Hosting with site builder
* Personalized Email Account
* Starter Web Page
* "For Sale" Page
* Parked Page w/ Domain
* Domain Forwarding & Masking
* 100-Pack Email Forwarding
* Total DNS Control
* Change of Registration
* Status Alerts
* Domain Locking
If you use their web builder to create your website you’ll loose everything if you decide to switch to another host.
That’s just one of the reasons (among many) I don’t recommend free hosting.
For your web host I recommend http://vlexofree.com. They are completely free they provide excellent hosting.
When you are hosting your domain it does not cost anything. The only thing that needs to be done with your domain is done by you and thats just changing your nameservers in godaddy to the one your host runs on.
For designing your site it is not usually done with online editors because they all usually suck. I suggest you learn how to code CSS and HTML with a free editor like Notepad++.
And if you dont like VlexoFree (if you choose that) you can create a FULL website backup and download it to your computer and take that and move elsewhere.
Good luck
